Researchers worldwide have published over 4,000 scientific papers on cannabis, its active components, and effects, with a significant increase in studies in recent years. NORML Deputy Director Paul Armentano emphasised the need for evidence-based discussions about cannabis and marijuana reform policies, noting a dramatic increase in scientific inquiries over the past decade. Nearly 71% of peer-reviewed scientific papers on marijuana have been published in the last decade, reflecting a growing focus on the plant’s therapeutic activities and the effects of legalization laws. PubMed.gov has over 45,900 scientific papers on marijuana dating back to 1840, with summaries of over 450 studies available from NORML.
