Medical sales have consistently declined since April 2021, while recreational sales have fluctuated. The state levies taxes on sales, with one-third of the recreational tax revenue benefitting community colleges and public safety. The number of qualifying medical cannabis patients in Arizona has steadily decreased, reporting 113,694 in January 2024, down from 115,914 in December 2023.
