A recent study has highlighted the role of the terpene D-limonene in cannabis. While not altering the mind like THC, it appears to mitigate negative emotions caused by weed. In a double-blind study with 20 participants, researchers found that higher doses of D-limonene correlated with reduced anxiety and paranoia. The study was cautious not to expose participants to D-limonene’s aroma. As the marijuana industry grows, understanding the scientific impact of different compounds is paramount to debunk unverified claims.
