A recent study in the journal Pharmaceuticals suggests that CBD, a chemical in cannabis, may alleviate symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder, improving quality of life. Previous research and human studies showed improvements in social communication and quality of life, possibly due to CBD supplementing the endocannabinoid system. However, more research is needed due to study limitations.
